Getroud Met Rugby Actor Guns Down His Lover

On Thursday, local actor Gregg Pettigrew, 51, allegedly shot and killed his 29-year-old lover in Kempton Park, Gauteng, before attempting to take his own life.

The shooting occurred in Pettigrew's home, a rental cottage in the area.

Police received an emergency call from the landlord and were on the scene shortly after. Norkem Park Police spokesperson Colonel Barbara-Anne Ferreira told sources they found a dead male on the scene.

"The other male was still in the bed, next to the male, and he had a firearm in his hand," she said. She said he was drowsy.

"We noticed that there were tablets. He drank an overdose of tablets."

Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi told sources earlier on Friday that the man was at the "local hospital under police guard".

Pettigrew played the character of Gé on the local soap, Getroud Met Rugby.

He's expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate's Court on Monday, 17 April.

Ferreira said he'd be charged with murder and possession of an unlicenced firearm. She said the family of the deceased was traumatised.

Schedule Alert: Telemundo To Make A Comeback On eExtra With A Rebroadcast Of Broken Angel Aka Santa Diabla

Two years ago, eMedia Investments halt distribution of Portuguese telenovelas from across their brands for Asian, Indian and Turkish dramas as they've proved to be favourable amongst consumers. Now Broken Angel (Santa Diabla) will be rolling out on eExtra.

Broken Angel served as one of the initial offering and also the first telenovela to rollout when eKasi+ was phased out for eExtra. In an attempt to bolster their entertaining offering the channel offered a range of content from drama series, reality shows and movies.

As seen later in the week, Broken Angel is set to make a comeback to the channel. It follows the story of Santa Martínez, a woman who seeks revenge for the murder of her husband Willy Delgado. Hired as a pianist at the Cano residence was falsely accused of rape.

Blaming the Canos for the unjust death of her husband, Santa intends to destroy the Cano family, but as she tries to complete her mission, she meets and falls in love with Santiago Cano, the black sheep of the Cano family.

Broken Angel debuted in the United States back in 2013 on Telemundo with a total of 136 episodes and featured the talents of Gaby Espino, Aaron Diaz, Carlos Ponce, Vasilis Milos, Ximena Duque and Gilda Haddock.

The series rolls out on the channel in the coming weeks or in this case from April 18 while as the channel welcomes newcomer, Om Elke Draai.

Schedule Alert: A Rebroadcast Of Blood And Wine Is Set To Replace Fearless Heart On Telemundo Africa

With originals dominating the repeat front Telemundo, a general entertainment channel owned by NBCUniversal that specialises in the distribution of Portuguese telenovelas from across Latin America is set to air rollout their second rebroadcast, Blood And Wine (Sangre De Mi Tierra).

Crisanto Castañeda and Natalia Martínez de Montiel are people from the land and the vineyards. For them, the grape, its cultivation, the elaboration of the musts and the quality of its wines is not a trade or a way of sustaining itself. It is a passion. A way of life. The only way to breathe and feel. This is the story that we are going to tell. Two intense and complicated families, Los Castañeda and Los Montiel, their encounters, their enmity, their loves, their hatreds and their intolerances, within the framework of the great passion they share: life.

Crisanto Castañeda came to Napa thirty years ago, from his native Michoacán, without a dime. After many years of hard work, he has conquered his world: he has a faithful wife Mercedes, four children: Emilio, Aurora, Paloma and Leonardo; It has its splendid vineyards, but above all, it owns its bodega of strong and powerful wines, just like him.

Natalia Martínez de Montiel was born in the great vineyards of Napa, and grew picking grapes next to her parents, Joaquín and Emilia Martínez, humble braceros who fought to give her a better future in this new land and, thanks to them, she was able to achieve a career at the university. She married Paco Montiel, an educated and good man, who supported her in her dreams of becoming a winemaker and today is still planted with expansion plans. He had only one son, Luis Montiel, married to Anita Carmona, and a winemaker, like his father. In addition, she had to raise the eldest son of her husband, the problematic Juan José Montiel.

Los Castañeda and Los Montiel have a friendship of years. Joaquín Martínez helped Crisanto buy his first land, and Crisanto, many years later, lent the money to Los Montiel to open their small cellar. The harmony of the relationship ends with Emilio's death in a car accident caused by the imprudence of his best friend, Juanjo Montiel, Paco's son. From that family tragedy, a war between families and wineries is established.

Crisanto, taken by the pain and the rage for his loss, puts a demand that aggravates the sentence of unintentional homicide of Juan José, Juanjo lasts a year and a half to jail, and terminates his relationship with Aurora. But in the midst of hatred, love underlies: Juanjo's love for Aurora, who is now married with Roberto. There is also a passionate love between Paco, Natalia's husband, for Paloma, the youngest daughter of the Castañeda. This relationship ends up aggravating the continuous fights and traps that are inflicted Natalia and Crisanto. And at the height of this enmity, there is a murder, which will put the two families in check, since many had reasons to commit it. Added to the suspense created by the murder, each of the members in both families will have to fight against their own and particular demons until they are defeated.

The series stars Ana Belena as Aurora Castañeda, Lambda García as Juan José 'Juanjo' Montiel, Santiago Ramundo as Roberto Quiroga, Carolina Gómez as Natalia Martínez de Montiel, Miguel de Miguel as Francisco 'Paco' Montiel, Antonio de la Vega as Crisanto Castañeda, Gloria Peralta as Mercedes Paredes de Castañeda.

The Blood And Wine double bill airs daily at 18:00 CAT from Sunday 22 April replacing one of their channel's most popular shows, Fearless Heart. The channel is rumoured to launch a new series likely the already announced The Story alongside season 3 of Queen Of The South.

First Glimpse Into The New Character Expected On Daai Crazy Somer Season 2

Famous actor Olgun Toker managed to impress a large audience with the character of Burak Ersoylu in the series “Arıza” in the winter season. The actor portrayed a psychopathic character so well that the viewers of the series could even believe that he really was that person.

One of the names who left in the first season of the Daai Crazy Somer (Son Yaz) was Olgun Toker, who gave life to the character of Gökhan Şen…Toker showed a strong character acting in Son Yaz with his villain character, just like in the Arıza. Gokhan, who confronted Akgün, acted by Alperen Duymaz, and gave him great difficulties, spread evil…

In the second season of the Daai Crazy Somer, another character is coming, who will shake the story again. The name that will give life to this character has also emerged. Onur Bay, who has played the role of Tekin in the TV series Arka Sokaklar since the age of 9, became the new transfer of the series.

Onur Bay left Arka Sokaklar in June to play new roles. Everyone was surprised when it turned out that the actor’s new series was also Son Yaz.

It has been revealed that Onur Bay will come to the story with a character who will face and compete with Akgün, brought to life by Alperen Duymaz in the new season.

Gökhan was a bad guy and Akgün was very worn out. However, the new character will be a much more challenging person and will stand against Akgün. Onur Bay and Alperen Duymaz scenes will also be talked about a lot in the new season.

Why eVOD Ranks As The Best Alternative For eExtra's Kuiertyd?

A few days ago, a source had mentioned that Soete Wraak currently seen on eVOD would be launching on eExtra in the coming days and this was after the channel announced the launches of new series Hart Van Goud and Roekeloos Dade.

eMedia Investments has piled up their eVOD streaming service with four yet-to-be-seen developments for eExtra including Om Elke Draai, Chrysalis and Ramo with Die Put being one of the brand's longest running action series is currently on its third season.

Aside from kykNET, eMedia Investments has been having a bit of rivalry amongst their portfolio or in this case eVOD and eExtra. As seen already, consumers on the app are currently streaming the third season of Die Put with potential spoilers ahead of its launch on eExtra.

While as consumers viewing on eExtra are enjoying an even wider offering of fresh shows such as Elif and soon to exiting Verdeelde Liefde, #DisComplicated and Die Vertroueling. Other shows joining the lineup include Kurt En Shura and e.tv's Daai Crazy Somer.

The downside for eExtra particularly without eVOD is that these shows are arranged in particular hours of day and when load shedding hits sometimes even with rebroadcasts you're screwed as opposed to the streamer where you can view it anywhere at anytime.

Another aspect is that with streaming is the lack of censorship. I mean shows like Die Vertroueling and Die Put are confined to the nighttime while as eVOD gives you an option to watch these series in any hour of the day even with load shedding you could still find time.

I'm not saying eVOD is #1 as you have these shows on ePlesier similar to eExtra viewable at anytime. But considering this is a rival platform, the shows in question for eExtra are viewed firsthand meaning just like Die Put you're at risk of spoilers.

On top of that the platform has a tendency of signing you out no matter how frequent of a consumer you are as opposed to eExtra's current platform, Openview where you can experience signal loss but won't need to constantly log on to browse shows.

At this point, the only thing eExtra is good for at the moment is giving these shows more exposure and one way to better promote the vast offering seen on eVOD other than it's mostly rebroadcasts from the streamer or other platforms.

From The Clone To Prisoner No. 1: We Present A List Of Shows From The 2010s That Have Never Aired On Telemundo Africa

Telemundo has been in the African market for almost a decade offering a mixture of action, comedy, drama and romance. But what some may not be aware is that there's a number of series that haven't been seen on the channel.

And we're not referring to the shows below 2009 which most viewers would find outdated although they're great shows like El Diablo and La Tormenta. But this content dates as far as 2010 some even 2017 yet they remain to not be seen on the channel.

Considering these shows have no chance of airing on the channel, I just think it's best everyone knows that some of this content was picked up or filmed in English but somewhere along the line they were scrapped before even hitting African shores.

Here it is the list of shows that haven't aired on the African feed of Telemundo:

1. El Clon (The Clone)

Based on the Brazilian telenovela O Clone, this melodrama features a love triangle featuring Lucas, a handsome hero, challenging his clone for the love of an enticing, exotic woman. Lucas is young when he falls for a young Arab girl named Jade. She is caught between modern values and her Islamic upbringing. They separate and two decades pass. Then a strange turn of luck brings the pair together. Then Jade meets the clone, who is just like Lucas, but twenty years younger. She must choose between the man she loved and the memory she cherishes.

This limited run melodrama, which starred Mauricio Ochmann and Sandra Echeverría, deals with topics such as drug trafficking, cloning and Islam.

2. La Diosa Coronada (The Crowned Goddess)

The story is based on Angie Sanclemente Valencia's involvement in the transportation of cocaine from Argentina to Europe. The series stars Carolina Guerra, Arap Bethke, Jonathan Islas, Carolina Gaitán, Rodolfo Valdés and Margarita Reyes.

3. Ojo Por Ojo (Eye For An Eye)

From Gustavo Bolivar, the story is based on Laura Restrepo's novel, "El Leopardo al Sol" while borrowing some elements of William Shakespeare's " Romeo and Juliet ". The series stars Gaby Espino, Miguel Varoni, Gregorio Pernía, Carmen Villalobos and Gonzalo Garcia Vivanco.

4. Amar De Nuevo (Love Again)

The story begins one tragic day, when Frijolito was in a traffic accident with his best friend Palito and his parents, Salvador and Veronica. Veronica's cousin, Bulmaro, had received orders from his boss, Max, to cause the accident. Max wanted revenge on Salvador, as he had hoped to get closer to Veronica. After that day, everything changed. Frijolito and Salvador were killed in the accident, Veronica was in a coma for two years and Palito was entrusted to the care of his grandmother Lily.

The series stars Patricia Garza, Eduardo Rodríguez, Alejandro Felipe and Jorge Eduardo García.

5. Flor Salvaje (Wild Flower)

Based on the novel La Novia Oscura, the series follows a young girl who loses her mother and brother all in one day. Only to then be abandoned with her three younger sisters by her father. It stars Mónica Spear, Tony Dalton José Luis Reséndez, Roberto Manrique, María Elisa Camargo and Gregorio Pernía.

6. Camelia La Texana

The story of a naive and beautiful young woman who tries to escape her destiny. The story begins in the 1970s when young Camelia and her mother flee one of Mexico's most dangerous capos, Don Antonio. Camelia's beauty attracts a lot of attention, jealousy from other women and infatuation on the part of many men, who fall powerless at her feet. Her mother tries to protect her from the fate that pursues her, but as she sets off in search of adventure Camelia meets the man who will be the love of her life, and also her betrayer: Emilio Varela. The series stars Sara Maldonado, Erik Hayser, Andrés Palacios and Dagoberto Gama.

The story is based on the song titled "Contrabando y Traición" by Los Tigres del Norte.

7. Villa Paraíso

Cristina, a beautiful young woman who fights to preserve the family heritage stays an apartment complex called "Villa Paraíso" which she inherited from her parents. The tenants are more than friends and little by little they become a big family. It stars Ximena Duque and David Chocarro as the main protagonists, while Silvana Arias and Ricardo Chávez star as the main antagonists.

8. Celia

Based on the life of Celia Cruz, it tells the story of one of the legends of Latin music and her major international career. We know the beginnings of her passion for singing in Cuba starting in 1950, and her recognition as the most decisive singer of La Sonora Matancera. The series stars Jeimy Osorio, Aymée Nuviola, Modesto Lacén, Willy Denton, Carolina Gaitán, Abel Rodríguez and Margoth Velásquez.

9. Mariposa de Barrio

Based on the autobiography Unbreakable: My Story, My Way authored by Jenni Rivera before her death. The inspiring and poignant story will follow in the footsteps of Jenni Rivera towards a dream of fame; An autobiographical journey from birth, based on her book "Unbreakable", as well as unpublished testimonies that reveal, as never before, her own family and explore her life as a daughter, mother, wife, lover and artist.

It stars Angélica Celaya, Gabriel Porras, Rosalinda Rodríguez, Samadhi Zendejas, Tony Garza, Regina Orquín, Enrique Montaño, Adrián Carvajal, Adriano Zendejas, Emmanuel Morales, Xavier Ruvalcaba, Raúl Sandoval and Mauricio Novoa.

Forbidden Passion (Pasion Prohibida) is a 2012 soap opera produced by Telemundo Studios that told the story of a woman's scorn over her mother after discovering that her she cheated on her father prior to his death so she married the man she chased after there she falls for his nephew.

The original produced by Ay Yapım (Turkey) went a similar path with the likes of Beren Saat, Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ, Selçuk Yöntem, Hazal Kaya & Nebahat Çehre which was set in the contemporary Istanbul instead of the 19th century setting as seen in Halit Ziya Uşaklıgil's 1899 novel of the same name.

Everyday Novelas:

Recap: Forbidden Passion Season 2 Was Scrapped Due To Monica Spear's Passing

Forbidden Passion is a 2012 drama series produced by Telemundo Studios that followed the long road love story of Bianca and Bruno. I don't want to spoil it or give too much basically the female lead got involved with her lover's uncle.

Based on the 2008 Turkish drama Aşk-ı Memnu which derives from the novel of the same name. It starred Monica Spear and Jencarlos Canela alongside Roberto Vander, Mercedes Molto, Rebecca Jones, Henry Zakka, Jorge Consejo and Carmen Aub.

From what a certain deleted article mentioned before passing, the series was renewed for a second season and some of the cast were to set to reprise their roles including Monica Spear and the part in bold shouldn't be read if you haven't watched the show.

Everyday Novelas:

Between You And Me now on Zee One

Eternal Love coming soon to Star Life

Fearless Heart coming soon to Telemundo

The second season would have seen the revival of Bianca after she committed suicide on her ex lover's wedding which never happened following her passing. Basically, the network loves to revive characters that were reported dead but who cares we got Lord Of The Skies S8.

Now the reason a second season ended up being scrapped with no chance of it in the coming future I mean I wouldn't be shocked if it was rebooted had to do with the unfortunate passing of Monica Spear with Forbidden Passion being her last project.

For those who weren't aware of the whole matter it goes as follows:

Monica Spear, 29, a soap opera actress, and Thomas Berry, 39, died after being attacked when their car broke down at night on a highway in central Venezuela in January.

Their daughter, Maya Berry Spear, suffered a leg injury but was in a stable condition after the attack that put a spotlight on the country's soaring murder rate.

The three men confessed to their involvement in the murder, the public prosecutor's office said in a statement.

Jean Carlos Colina, 19, got a 26-year sentence, while Jose Ferreira Herrera, 18, and Nelfrend Jimenez Alvarez, 21, were jailed for 24 years, the statement said.

Telemundo:

- Nurses returns for a season 3

- Prediction: what to expect on Telemundo in 2023?

- Lord Of The Skies renewed for season 8

What happened to little Maya?

14-year-old Maya Berry Spear, daughter of Monica Spear, was legally adopted by the brother of the remembered former beauty queen Ricardo Spear and his partner, actress Daniela Bueno, who signed the papers in August this year.

Let us remember that since Monica's tragic death, those who were in charge of little Maya were her maternal grandparents, Rafael Spear and Inge Mootz, but she always grew up surrounded by the love of all her family, especially her uncles.

"I witnessed how he was busy, at the time from his role as an uncle, to give her values and fill her with love." Ricardo has a generous heart and has always been very protective and loving with her. We knew it came with a huge responsibility, however, we took on it and today we are happy about the decisions we made. "Our family is built from will and this bond is forever," Daniela told People in Spanish.

How do you think Forbidden Passions season 2 would have turned out had it finished production?

‘Sushant Singh Rajput was murdered’, claims Cooper Hospital mortuary servant

More than two years have passed since the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. Now the person who conducted Sushant’s postmortem claimed that the actor did not commit suicide but was murdered.

The Mumbai Police had termed it a suicide and the family suspected it to be a murder. Now there has been a new twist in this case. Roopkumar Shah, who claimed to have conducted Sushant Singh’s postmortem, has told that the actor did not commit suicide but was murdered.

He also claimed that he had spoken to his higher officials and asked them to record the postmortem as per rules, but asked them to take pictures and hand over the body to the police. However, questions are also being raised about whether Roopkumar Shah was involved in the team that conducted the postmortem or not.

Sushant’s father on his son’s death

Sushant’s body was found in his Apartment in Bandra on June 14, 2020. Earlier, the case was being investigated by the Mumbai Police. The case was later handed over to the CBI. The investigation report of this case has not come yet.

Recently during a conversation, Sushant’s father KK Singh told a TV channel, ‘My child cannot commit suicide. He was not stupid, he was courageous, and he was fast-paced. He didn’t have the temperament to commit suicide. We have been watching him since childhood and we know what a brave and bold person he was.

Sushant’s father KK Singh had alleged that his son was murdered and Riya Chakraborty was also involved in this murder. Rhea Chakraborty was questioned by the investigating agencies in the case. Along with the CBI, the Enforcement Directorate and the Narcotics Control Bureau are also involved in this investigation. The case is with the CBI and so far the investigating agency has not disclosed the cause of death.

There were 2-3 marks on the neck

Rupkumar Shah, a mortuary servant of Cooper Hospital in Mumbai, told the TV9 channel, “When Sushant Singh Rajput died, we found five bodies in Cooper Hospital for postmortem. One of those five bodies was a VIP body. When we went to conduct the postmortem, it was found that he was Sushant and there were many marks on his body.

There were also two-three marks on his neck. The postmortem needed to be recorded, but the higher authorities had only asked for pictures of the body to be taken. We did the same as per the order. ‘

This is not suicide, it is murder

He further says, “When I first saw Sushant’s body, I immediately told my seniors that I think it is not suicide but murder. I even told them that we should act according to the rules. However, my seniors told me to take pictures as soon as possible and hand over the body to the police. This was the reason why the postmortem was done at night. ‘

Razia Sultana - The First Woman Sultanate Of India

Razia Sultana was the first woman Sultanate of India, and ruled the court of Delhi from the end of 1236 to 1240. The only ever woman to do so, she defied all odds to occupy the throne, including overcoming conflicts over her gender and her slave ancestry. During her reign, she proved her mettle as a just and capable ruler, and was renowned for her subversive actions, which varied from sporting men’s attire to printing coins in her own name and image.

In 1205, Razia Sultan was born into the household of Shams-us-din Iltutmish as his only daughter. Although he had entered Delhi as a slave worker under Qutb-ud-din, he had impressed the ruler with his efficiency, and had been appointed as a provincial governor. Iltutmish sought to impart these same qualities to all his children, including Razia, and ensured they were all well educated and trained in archery, martial arts, and administration.

On 30th April, 1236, Iltutmish passed away, appointing Razia as his rightful heir. The Muslim nobility refused to accept this, and therefore, they installed her incompetent brother, Rakn ud din Firuz, on the throne. His rule, which was managed by Shah Turkaan, Iltutmish's widow, came to an abrupt end a mere 6 months later, when both he and his mother were assassinated. Razia was finally handed the reigns to the kingdom on 10th November, 1236.

Razia ascended the throne as Jalâlat ud-Dîn Raziyâ, and immediately dropped her veil, replacing it with men’s attire instead. She authoritatively issued coins in her name, proclaiming herself to be the ‘pillar of women’ and ‘Queen of the times.’

She was proud of her kingdom, and worked on conquering new territories and strengthening it. She also made breakthroughs in its administration, and established schools, academies, and public libraries. She gained many supporters and admirers through her reign.

The Turkish nobles were displeased by Razia’s efficient rule as well as her rumoured involvement with Jamal ud-Din Yaqut, an Abyssinnian Siddi slave. Despite her courageous efforts, she was taken into capture, and her brother, Muizuddin Bahram Shah, usurped the throne once Yaqut was murdered.

Malik Altunia, the governor of Bhatinda grew to fall in love with Razia’s charm and wit, and took her as his wife. He rebelled against the Turkish nobles and was determined to win Razia back her kingdom; he planned a siege on behalf of his sovereign. Together, they marched towards Delhi, but were unsuccessful in their conquest. They were defeated by Bahram on 13th October, 1240.

Raziyâ and Altunia fled Delhi after their defeat and reached Baithal the very next day. With their remaining forces abandoning them, they met their unfortunate ends at the hands of the Hindu Jats there, who robbed and killed them.

Till date, the final resting place of Razia remains unknown, with no supporting archaeological or documentary evidence. The site of her grave could be in Baithal, Delhi, or Tonk. Her legacy, however, has stood the test of time; women throughout the ages have invoked her name in their lyrics and in their folklore, spreading her story across distant lands.

The History Of Star Life's Predecessor Life OK

Before Life OK this was the channel back in 2001

Star One was a youth entertainment channel owned by the defunct News Corporation which inturn was owned by Star India and FOX International TV channels which are both properties of The Walt Disney Company under the brand Disney Star.

During its run, the channel produced several Bollywood productions including Detective Omkar Nath (D.O.N.), Miley Jab Hum Tum, Shakuntala, Home Shanti Home and shows formerly seen on Star Life like Geet and to some extent Koffie With Karan.

The introduction to Life OK

In 2011, it was announced Star One would be replaced by Life OK from December 18th as part of an attempt to bolster their offering to take on the likes of Sony which was ahead in terms of viewership. With the new channel onboard came a set of original programming.

The channel introduced several shows viewers would have come across in its current form or at the English version which is Star Life like Forever Yours (Your Paakhi) that formed part of the incarnate initial offering alongside other series like Pukaar - Call For The Hero and Dream Girl.

Life OK expansion to Africa, exit in the region and elsewhere

Life OK just like StarPlus and a few other channels expanded to various European markets with Africa fortunate enough to get Life OK as a replacement to Channel V on the StarTimes platform.

Interesting enough, Life OK performed poorly with its audience I mean for a "Hindi" entertainment channel to cater for an English audience made a whole lot of sense especially with StarTimes bulk of Indian entertainment.

In 2017, Life OK was replaced by Star Bharat again still reserved as a youth brand and the reasons for the demise of Life OK were more or less similar to that of StarTimes I mean Bharat also the platform produce a selection of content with reruns of StarPlus series.

Conspiracy theory about Star Life

Although there's sufficient evidence of the channel's connection to Life OK despite both being owned by Disney Star. Pay attention to the wording "Star Life" and "Life OK" I mean it can't be coincidence.

Life OK was often referred to as "Star's Life" OK and as mentioned notice how Life exists on Star Life I mean how would Disney Star have been able to come up with such a name.

I mean the idea of Star Life being based on a reject doesn't seem far fetched I mean Warner Bros. Discovery's Real Time and competitor Zee Enterprise's Zee One were all based on rejects which became relevant to viewers in Africa.
